South Bronx United’s 2022 Annual Report

Last year was a milestone year for South Bronx United. The highlight was the opening of the SBU Clubhouse! For the first time, we truly have a home, a crucial safe space for youth during out-of-school time. With a mini soccer field and a classroom, the Clubhouse has given youth participants somewhere to play pickup soccer, get academic support, socialize with friends, meet with mentors, join game watch parties, and much more. In the Clubhouse, more families can also now introduce their children to soccer.

In 2022, we also took important steps towards our vision of becoming an international leader in a local approach to sports-based youth development by strengthening existing programs. South Bronx United's community soccer programs reached more young people than ever before. The SBU Academy increased its capacity to serve more middle school youth. Every SBU Academy Senior graduated high-school and is now enrolled in college. Thanks to the new SBU College Access program, any local student-athlete can now work with SBU staff towards their goal of college and careers. The number of immigration cases managed and immigration relief screenings increased providing a critical lifeline to youth and families.

I hope you will take the take to read South Bronx United's 2022 Annual Report to learn more about everything we accomplished and celebrated last year! Stay tuned for much more to come in 2023!
