Communications Internship
OVERVIEW
Communication Interns work closely with South Bronx United’s Communications and Community Outreach Manager in support of SBU’s growing digital presence. The Intern will be part of a small and dynamic communications team, assisting with the development of relevant content and draft posts for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, tracking engagement and analytics on social media post, maintenance of social media calendar, researching trends in social media marketing, as well as general communications and marketing support.
WHEN
Spring Internship: mid/late January – May
Fall Internship: September – December
Summer Internship: May – September

COMMITMENT
10-15 hours a week for at least a semester.
TRAINING
All interns will receive training from the Communications and Community Outreach Manager.
BENEFITS
While the position is unpaid, interns have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on communications and marketing experience in a supervised setting. Throughout their internship, interns will receive support and formal observations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Along with possessing a passion for supporting nonprofit work and serving urban youth, an intern should have strong communication and writing skills and comfort using social media platforms. Additionally, an ideal candidate should have or be pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or another related field.
