Emilia Tineo
Volunteer Program Associate, AmeriCorps
She holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from St. John's University and has volunteer and leadership experience with nonprofits in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Emilia was an Ozanam Scholar who studied social justice through volunteering, academic scholarship, and global citizenship. Those nonprofits focus on community service, casework, sports and youth development, tutoring services, and voter registration. She hopes her experience in advocacy can help recruit and manage volunteers at SBU to support student-athletes. She is now a Volunteer Program Associate through AmeriCorps and is excited to be a force in Volunteer Relations. During her free time, Emilia enjoys watching Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man not because she is a comic fan, but because she believes it is a good show.
