SBU Celebrates 13th Annual Benefit with Midge Purce
South Bronx United celebrated its 13th Anniversary Benefit on November 15th! Every year, we are inspired anew by the generosity of spirit and passion that brings our community together for this evening. The program was hosted by Emcee Christian Polanco, of the Cooligans. SBU presented its Soccer for Good Award to NWSL Finals MVP Midge Purce, who had just won the NWSL Championship with NJ/NJ Gotham FC. Honoree Sina Toussi and Alumni Honoree Lesley Miron both gave inspiring remarks, along with Executive Director Andrew So. New York City FC Goalkeeper Matt Freese was also a special guest.
The event raised more than $350,000 to support South Bronx United’s programs that provide academic support, college prep, mentoring, immigration legal services, social work supports, and soccer programming for youth and families in the community. Learn more at www.celebratesbu.com.
